They camp beneath the now demolished cooling towers of High Marnham Power Station in Nottinghamshire, beside Loch Etive in Argyll, Scotland and then on the split rock formations of the Limestone Pavement above Malham Cove, near Skipton, North Yorkshire.

Perhaps the most extensive use of locations, though, was in The Deathly Hallows Pt 1, where Harry, Hermione and Ron hit the road. For 2009’s The Half-blood Prince, the Potter team made a rare trip abroad, filming Harry and Dumbledore’s seaside search for the horcrux at the Cliffs of Moher (pictured), County Clare (featured as the Cliffs of Insanity in another kids classic, The Princess Bride).
